4 Signs You Should Have Your Tires Inspected Or Changed

Your tires on your car are very important. They are necessary for your car to move and are important in keeping your car on the road and you and your family safe. If your tires are not in good shape, you aren't going to be able to keep control of your car and you could end up with other issues as well. Read on for a few signs that may indicate that you should have your tires changed.

1. You're Burning Through More Gas

If you're burning through a lot more gas than normal, it may be because your tires don't have enough air in them. You can fill them up and use a tire gauge to see if there is enough tire pressure in them. Then keep an eye on them to see if your tires are still losing air. If this is the case, you may have a hole in your tire or you could have a nail or something else in your tire that is causing your tire to lose air. Have your tire inspected and repaired if needed, or replaced.

2. Your Vehicle Is Pulling

If you notice your vehicle is pulling to one side or the other, it may be because your tires don't have enough air in them, or it could be because your tires are not evenly worn. If your tires are not evenly worn, they may need to be rotated, or if they are too far gone, they may need to be replaced.

3. You Don't Have Tread

If your tires don't have any tread on them, it may be because they have gone far beyond their life and should be replaced. Your tires should have enough tread on them that when you put a penny upside down in the tread of your tire, you shouldn't be able to see Lincoln's head. If you can see the head or more, the tires need to be replaced.

4. Your Tires Are Dry-Rotted

If your tires are dry-rotted, which means they have visible cracks, they need to be replaced. Dry-rotted tires cannot be repaired. Instead, they must be replaced. Driving on this type of tire is dangerous and can cause you to get into an accident if your tire just disintegrates while driving.

If your tires are not in good shape, you need to have them either repaired or replaced. Your tires are important, don't take the chance of driving on unsafe tires. For more information, contact a company like Xtreme Tire Garage.
